FROM THE TEAM IN GREENWICH
Congrats to our Northern New Jersey leadership team for hosting their first networking event, which was a sold-out success! Also a big thank you to Kathryn Arons (a member of the Central New Jersey leadership team) for her introduction to Anne-Marie Slaughter who will be speaking at our luncheon event in April in NYC. Details to follow!
A SALUTE TO WOMEN IN FILM
Ladies First!
Annette Porter, the founder of Nylon Films and a Power Circle member of 85 Broads, has created a trailer for her documentary "Ladies First." Annette will follow intrepid pilot (and fellow 85 Broads member) Tracey Curtis Taylor as she retraces the route of Britain’s first female commercial pilot. This adventure, in an open cockpit bi-plane, will take them from Cape Town to Cambridge. Along the route, they will be meeting and capturing the voices of trailblazing women throughout Africa.
Jacki Zehner, Sundance Institute Board Member and 85 Broads Power Circle member, hosted a party to celebrate the success of women filmmakers at this year’s festival to discuss ways to further empower women in filmmaking, and to hear the results of a research study called “Exploring the Barriers and Opportunities for Independent Women Filmmakers.” Jacki is making her mark on a key industry for women!
