June Global Broadcast
From HBS to Moscow: Katrin Buckenmaier, CEO & Co-Founder, Travelmenu
was founded by Nina Pogossova (Harvard MBA 2005) and is now headed
up by Katrin Buckenmaier, her Harvard classmate and 85 Broads
member. Online outbound travel in Russia is still in its
earliest stages, but growing rapidly and is expected to reach
more than $7 billion by 2015. As one of the first movers in the
space, Travelmenu is today the only Russian e-travel company,
where the traveller can buy airline tickets, hotel accommodations
and package holidays all in one place. Since receiving
early stage financing in May 2011, Travelmenu's Gross Booking
Value has grown dramatically and the company is on track for break-even
in 2013. Travelmenu has just kicked off its latest fundraising
efforts with a view to close a $8-10 million Series B round by
year-end. For more info on the Series B round,
email Katrin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Travelmenu offers all Russian-speaking 85 Broads members exclusive 5-10% discounts on bookings of hotels, flights and package holidays. If interested, email Katrin. This offer will be extended to all English-speaking members upon translation of the website later this year.

From Christine Lai:
"After taking a year off to enjoy a personal sabbatical and refocus my career, I came across a unique opportunity via the 85 Broads job board - a ProInspire Fellowship. As a business professional looking to utilize my skills for more positive change, I was seeking a transition into the social sector, and the ProInspire Fellowship seemed like an ideal fit. Through a rigorous interview and selection process, I was extended an invitation to be a 2012 ProInspire Fellow and work with the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy. I am thrilled about this incredible opportunity and continue to be amazed and inspired by the members and opportunities I come across in 85 Broads."

85 BROADS DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS
In her documentary, Libby Spears demonstrates that very little thrives on this planet without American capital, and the commercial child sex industry is certainly thriving. Spears intelligently traces the epidemic to its disparate, and decidedly domestic, roots — among them the way children are educated about sex, and the problem of raising awareness about a crime that inherently cannot be shown. Executive produced by George Clooney, Grant Heslov, and Steven Soderbergh.
